Technical FAQs

Do I need to have access to a computer to attend?

Yes, but to make sure you have the equipment you need for school we provide each student a loaner laptop. These computer systems are Insight PA instructional property and must be returned when the student leaves the school. Insight PA highly recommends families accept our loaner computer as we are able to assist with technical and software issues.

High speed internet must be active by the first day of school and must be maintained for the duration of enrollment. Internet Service Provider (ISP) rebate checks are issued per household. Each family will receive their actual cost of internet up to, and not to exceed, $35 per month for each month their student attends Insight PA Cyber Charter School. Families must submit proof of internet twice per year in order to receive the ISP subsidy. You will receive direction as to where to send this from your teacher. ISP subsidy checks are distributed in December and June upon submission by the specific deadlines.

What computer skills are required?

The Learning Coach needs to have at least basic computer skills. Use of the computer is an important part of the online school program, but in the early grades, it is mostly the parent (or other responsible adult) who interacts with the computer. High school students are most successful if they have basic computer skills.
