Lisa Berger, High School History
Mrs. Berger holds a M.Ed. in Education from Walden University and a B.A. in History from the University of Pittsburgh. The 2017-2018 school year marks her 9th academic year in virtual on-line teaching and her 16th active year in the field of education. She loves to teach US History and Geography.
Brayden Cressman, Spanish
Mrs. Cressman holds a B.S. in World Languages Education Spanish & Applied Spanish with a certificate in TESOL from The Pennsylvania State University and is working on her Masters in Spanish Linguistics from New Mexico State University. The 2017-2018 school year marks her 5th academic year in education and her 1st academic year with online instruction. She comes to ISPA with teaching experience from central and eastern Pennsylvania and Ecuador. She loves to teach all levels of language, but has a soft spot for the foods unit.
Christina Davis, Math
Ms. Davis received her Master in the Art of Teaching degree from Western New Mexico University. Prior to that, she graduated from the University of Colorado at Boulder with a degree in Anthropology and French. She has enjoyed many diverse teaching experiences in her 15-year career including rural, urban, and online school settings. She also had the opportunity to work as an Education Ranger with the National Park Service and the Fish and Wildlife Service. She has lived and worked in New Mexico, France, Oregon, Wyoming, Utah, and Pennsylvania.
Corinne McGourney, Advisor
Ms. McGourney received her B.S. in Psychology from Kutztown University of Pennsylvania minoring in sociology and a M.S. in Counseling with a concentration in school counseling from Villanova University. Ms. McGourney holds a PK-12 certificate in school counseling for the state of Pennsylvania. Ms. McGourney joins Insight PA as a part of Student Support Services and is a member of the Family Academic Support Team (FAST). This year is her first year as an advisor and her first year working in an online school setting. She is very excited to use her newly acquired skills to connect with families and students alike in order to help them achieve their goals and aspirations.
Reuben Lacy, Health & Physical Education
Mr. Lacy holds a B.S. in Health and Physical Education from Cairn University, and is certified to teach Pre-K-12th grade in Pennsylvania. The 2017-2018 school year marks his 1st academic year in online instruction and he is excited for the new adventure. He is most looking forward to using his passion for health to provide a positive impact on the life-long fitness journey of his students. Mr. Lacy resides in Philadelphia, PA.
Kim Spurgeon, High school science
Mrs. Spurgeon holds a B.S. in biology education from Bloomsburg University and an M.Ed in elementary education from West Virginia University. The 2017-2018 school year marks her 8th academic year in public education and her 3rd year in a charter school. She comes to ISPA with teaching experiences from both Pennsylvania and North Carolina, and professional certifications in biology, general science, math, middle school science and K-5 elementary education. Her favorite subject to teach is physical science because it involves physics, chemistry and math all in one!
